Preparing a Scalar Scene

For visualization, you create a scalar scene to display the temperature distribution within the solid exhaust pipe.

You can use this scene to visualise the solution while the simulation is running.
  1. In the Vis toolbar, click the (Create/Open Scenes) button and select Scalar.
  2. Rename the Scenes > Scalar Scene 1 node to Shells Temperature.
  3. Right-click the Shells Temperature > Scalar 1 > Parts node and select Edit... .
  4. In the Parts dialog, expand the Regions node and select Shells, then click OK.
  5. In the Vis toolbar, click (Save-Restore-Select Views) and select Views > +Z > Up +Y.
Define the scene settings:
  1. Click Scene/Plot.
  2. Edit the Shells Temperature node and set the following properties:
    Node Property Setting
    Outline 1 Outline Deactivated
    Scalar 1 Contour Style Smooth Blended
    Scalar Field Function Temperature
    Scalar Field Units C
    Color Bar Color Map cool-warm
    Title Height 0.035
    Label Height 0.05
  3. Save the simulation.
